To Conclude my Essay on Blogging

There are more thoughts on blogging that I feel compelled to put down. I used to do a fair amount of online dating. After it was all said and done, my favorite part of the whole experience was never the actual date (not all too often agreed upon). It was the writing and the reading of the emails. I could have been instantly swayed in one direction or another all from the written word. In fact, there were one or two occasion where I thought I must have found the perfect match for myself, all from "good emailing". I spent almost three months emailing a guy one time before we finally met. We went out one more time after the first date, but that was it. I could never put my finger on what I didn't like about him. He just wasn't the same in person. Still I didn't consider the experience in any way a waste of time. I got so much out the writing and the reading of the long or sometimes short, but always thoughtful, maybe funny, emails. Blogging isn't entirely different from emailing with a stranger you meet on the internet. You don't know who you might be talking to, maybe just to yourself. You might be telling someone you just met all about yourself, but in a way, aren't we really in the process of crafting ourselves while we explain ourselves? Wow, that may be one of the deeper thoughts I've had in a while. As I write about myself, I learn things about myself that are new even to ME. This seems like a great reason to blog. Now maybe I can move on to the actual blogging.
